naah.. this model is referred to as baby Monster in Seiko series and is called as 'Ice' because of the color. there are Orange Monsters as well which are much more famous!

and the Car ICE - there has not been much change as my long drives have come down drastically - instead 'Home Audio' is taking most of my attention

      We have the following:
1.Omega Speedmaster Pro (original Moonwatch - not quite - since this is an automatic, bought in 1975)
      2. Omega Constellation (six, three quartz, with my wife, daughter and daughter-in-law, and three mechanical with my son, son-in-law and another 41mm with me).

Omega /Swatch have a service centre in Delhi. The Swatch Group (India) Pvt. Ltd in Saket (near the Max Hospital). They are fully geared and will also import parts (if required). The watch must be 'original' in all respects, else they will replace the bits. My own Speedmaster had been messed up, and they fixed it to as good as new), took six months and costs about Rs.75,000. The watch is as good as new.

Also, my Constellation was misbehaving, and they diagnosed it as a broken hour wheel. This will be replaced foc. The total damages estimated at Rs.17,000.

I was told of this centre by SSTraveller on TBHP.

This thing has a number of tricks up its sleeve, a vibrator alarm. Brilliant. I never use the one on my phone as my pants are loose fitting so i'd never feel it. In a loud environment i will know if the alarm or a timer goes off.

Bigger digits than on other g-shocks.

A low battery indicator, which i've not seen on others.

      100 city world clock.

Was browsing the comments and came upon the "i don't need a watch i have a phone" variety. Seriously, why don't these people just admit they don't like wearing watches. This argument is total BS. Why should i fish out my phone when i can just turn my wrist. I wear my watch everywhere, my phone isn't always with me or at some distance.

The next thing i want to say is a watch that does not show the date or day of the week is useless. I had neither on my timex and it was no fun having to look at the phone just for this.

And finally, smart watches are a joke. Now i have to recharge the damn thing like the phone or BT headset, EVERY DAY ? hah no thanks. Quite expensive as well and something better comes out a year later. I don't want to change my phone less than five years let alone a watch. Typically i've lost watches because they got dropped one time too many. This one looks like it can handle drops.

When i was researching and it took a while as casio has so many. Which to get ? I came across solar watches. As in these watches have a rechargeable battery inside and can recharge themselves with ambient light. Compare that to a smart watch. What a difference. The idea with solar is you don't find out one fine day the battery died. This is why the low battery warning is useful on the one i got.

Some also have atomic time keeping, too bad we don't get a signal for that in India because its pretty cool if older tech. No need to be outside like GPS, works indoors. And if you have a number of watches with that feature they will all be in sync.

One day the battery on this watch will run low.. One day it will stop working.... One day the digits will fade out... One day it will not wake up in the morning... One day the compass will not show the correct direction... 18 years and that day is yet to come.
