Like anything you mod (cars, bikes, PCs etc), will on the "long run" affect the life of the product. However, if you service your car at regular intervals, maintain it well, do some due diligence you can prolong the same. Let's assume that an engine is built to last 2L kms without an engine rebuild by the manufacturer. If you run an aggressive map, maybe you will need a rebuild at about 1.75L or 1.8L kms. But the question is, how many of us retain our cars for that long? So as long as you keep the car, maintain it well and you shall not run into any issues with a safe map.

Most often than not, the guys at the A.S.S don't bother if you are running a remap or not. Most don't even figure out the difference. However, it becomes only an issue when you have some expensive warranty replacement issues, like say you get a remap and blow your engine and blame it on the company saying you did nothing, that is when they will dig deep into if the car was remapped or not etc. Otherwise usually they don't even care. Most of the Code6'd cars, the A.S.S knows that the cars have been remapped. And none of us have had issues so far.

Yes, you can flash the stock map back anytime you want, as long as you are near to your Code6 dealer who can hook your car up with a laptop and the tool.

Let me put it this way, go get a flash done on your car. Drive it for a while and see for yourself. If you feel that the difference is not worth it, I am sure that the boys would be more than glad to flash the stock map back. So, far, I've never seen this happen

There is no better way to find out than give it a try for yourself.

Pretty much worth it. Do not expect the top speed to shoot up, the remap will help you get to your existing top speed faster. The max top speed my remapped car has seen with mclaren1885 driving is 185 on the speedo in NICE Road. But it took a while to get there from 160.

The major advantage with a remap is you can request them to tune it to your taste.

Evolved Evil - Remap V2 + EGR Delete.

I'd posted a few months ago about my Ecosport becoming EvilSport. Well, there's been an update.

And this is the message that I sent Tadukuttan a few seconds ago.

"This map makes me want to write poetry"
That's really the summary. You don't have to read the rest of this write up.

This map makes everything I've driven before, fall by the wayside.

I was pretty happy with the first map. The mileage was brilliant, the power was scary, and the NVH was more or less equal to stock. The rev range was unbelievable on a diesel.

I hadn't planned on changing the map so soon, but got tempted when Code 6 posted about the EGR delete on their Facebook page.

So I pestered Tadukuttan there, and maverick_seby by phone. Then forgot all about it. A few days later, maverick_seby calls me asking for the car. I got the 10k service done, and took it to his place on Friday night.

Saturday turns out to be a Hartal, so couldn't flash the maps on for trial runs till after 6pm, when the roads became open for use. I slept comfortably through the night while tadukuttan and Maverick_seby worked overnight fueled by coffee and nicotine. Next morning I went MTBing in the forest while these guys kept working. There were updates on whatsapp about what was happening, so after the ride, I got dropped off in the afternoon at Cochin's Code 6 headquarters. The car was ready and I took it for a spin. The road was narrow and dangerous so didn't push hard. Still the difference was evident.

It was way more refined than the map I was running before. Smooth, menacing power, compared to the scary power of the first version. Mafia enforcer in Armani suit vs Street thug in torn jeans. And I much prefer the company of the former.

There was another ecosport being flashed with the same map at that point and the owner was gushing about how good it was, and I kept nodding and grinning. (He had turned up with a written checklist and two friends to make sure that the map ticked all the boxes)

I've had the chance to use the map only in city roads, so this is the first installment of the review of Evolved evil.

The car is a breeze to drive in the city. At 1000rpm in 3rd gear, the speedo shows 20kmph. From there, if I see a gap, I can gently depress the accelerator and take the overtaking opportunity with ease. There is no real lag, no lack of acceleration. At 1200 rpm, the car has already gathered significant momentum, and by 1500rpm, your eyes will be dancing in your sockets looking at the road side hoping that suicidal bikes and pedestrians aren't jumping in front of the missile you're controlling. By the time it is 2000rpm, the nose of the car is tilted up, and the rear is squatting down beautifully, and you wish the car was a rear wheel drive. At near about 4000rpm, the car will do around 120kmph and still be pulling.

No dead spots from 20kmph to 120kmph. Let that sink in.
Now add these points, to the above fact.
In a single gear, On a fixed geometry turbo, on stock boost.
If that isn't magic, I don't know what is. This is just third gear.

In 4th gear the car hits 150kmph in a short stretch of straight road near puthuvype beach (for those who are familiar with the area) that's how quick it accelerates.

And, it does all this with out the noise, and violence that makes the passengers scream in terror. And that, is a big advantage for a person like me.
More updates about Highway manners and fuel economy will follow, but I didn't want to wait for a few weeks to get this news out to the world.

      This map is genius.

With the amount of testing gone into this version and the enormous number of test drives for bug fixes, I was sure that this will be one of our signature maps.

MY CAR DOES NOT DO 120 IN 3RD GEAR.
Why do people post I want the best for my car... When there isn't anything that is the best on the car to begin with.

I think Ripper is talking about ecosport, if I am not assuming wrong then legendracer is talking about a #Figo . Is I have tested my Figo reaches 105-110 KMPH max in 3rd gear.
      Thanking you

legendracer, the Figo does higher speeds in third gear than your Skoda.

I believe my Bro here refers to the fact that SKoda does 120 in second gear itself
