India-built Duster gets recalled in UK for corrosion/rust issues. What about those sold in India???

http://www.daciaforum.co.uk/forum/to...-rusty-duster/On receiving several complaints about corrosion on door sills, bonnet and other painted areas, the manufacturer reckoned it as a problem in paint shop in Chennai facility and shifted production of RHD version to Romania. They remained diplomatic and stated the reason for shifting as economics and logistics management. Meanwhile, Dacia recalled defective cars for scrutiny and announced free repairs (under warranty).

At the time only around 90 complaints were received. But over the months, the complaints rose to several hundreds and the issue has been spreading virally over forums and social media. Eventually, the affected Dusters came to be known as ‘Rusters’.

Well many cases were reported in India itself . Quoting a few from Team BHP
I just checked my Duster 85PS, bought in April 2013 at Chennai.
The steering rack is rusted! Since I had done flooring, the rack wasn't very visible. A little stooping and with a torch, the rust is visible!
Wonder how many other parts do we need to check for rust!!
The issues of rust are well documented on the forum and other websites. It is true in my case as well. The pictures are self explanatory.Click image for larger version.

There is a clunking sound coming from the rear every time the car goes over a bump (speed breaker, pothole) at moderate speed.
Please check the wheel on the left. Click image for larger version.

The picture below shows premature rusting of a critical component (steering rack). It could lead to steering failure

So seems like this is Clear case of poor quality of metal they use. But Renault India has never accepted it.
Didn't expect this from Renault for a Vehicle that cost around 14 Lakhs on road!!! But thought the European vehicles made in India were of superior quality than that done for India
or Is the Chennai location the culprit??
