      no name fog lamps

      http://www.ebay.in/itm/Honda-City-Zx...item41899bd3b6

Can someone guide me how these no-name fogs are,
what type of bulbs they have ? H8 / H11
Can bulbs be upgraded to better ones etc.

Have already asked the seller and he doesnt have much idea. It seems he thinks of fogs as a cosmetic add on.

Does your OEM fogs work properly, mine does not switch on. After service they work for few days and again go off.

The OEM is from Thailand and is H11 (my civic has 35W, and Brio 55W). I have changed the Civic to 55W, 3000K HID from XenonPro.

Added: They carry a Honda badge.

In that link , seller gives no idea on how the light output pattern is.

There is no practical use of upgrading bulbs if the optics of the fog light is not decent. It only creates more foreground light and adds to glare.
I have seen the chrome reflector coating of the light getting blisters due to more heat because of upgrade in such fog lights.
So I discourage the idea of upgrade of bulb power for such lights.

Best use i feel is to put a LED type replacement bulb in it and keep it on to use like DRL. Looks much better than those standalone add on DRL clusters in bumper slots.
