As much as I do know him, he'd probably prefer velcro to other solutions.
If it's good enough to be used to anchor stuff in space shuttles, it should have no problems doing work in the boot of a car.

      1. Perfection in everything he chooses to do is his mantra. Even jugaads have to 'look perfect'. Hopefully he'll post a pic of the HU jugaad soon to show you what I mean

      2. The man doesn't let anyone put luggage in the boot of the Cruze because the amp may get scratched. So you can imagine. While checking out from our resort in Goa few weeks ago the other car had gone for some work, so 4 of us with our luggage had to meet at the rendezvous point in the Cruze. We had to literally sit with our (and his) luggage on our laps because our man wouldn't allow even a single bag in the boot

      3. He's the guy who gets the whole car painted if there is a tiny scratch on 1 door to ensure the paint "matches".

      4. He's the guy who details his car with an umbrella while it's raining

As much as I'd love to strap his amps down with velcro and call it a day, I'm afraid Ze Mallu man will stop feeding me beef at our trips and that would be far worse torture than achieving perfection on his car

We've come up with a sweet idea to achieve what he wants and make it look like a setup worthy of competing even in a competition. Just waiting for our man to make up his mind on when Stage III will commence.

There are few updates I haven't had time to post on this thread thanks to my old laptop giving up on me.

      Will post em soon.

On a serious note, we do use Velcro to hold subwoofer enclosures down in place and not move around when you toss the car around. They work just fine and if the carpet used to cover the enclosure is black in colour then the velcro straps blends in quite well without looking too ugly. We use velcro in most of our installs on the subwoofer encloures.

Strapping down amps with velcro however will look extremely ugly! And should the velcro fail (happens sometimes) it would be far too big a risk to take with an expensive amp.

@mclaren1855/@thedrive can you post how you finally ended up installing the 80PRS in cruze. I'm in a similar situation and want to install 80PRS somewhere under the climate control area on ecosport.

      Thanks
