      15,000 kms service update

Though the ODO stood a little above 11,000 kms, got the service done in advance since it completes 1 year in the first week of march. Due to some travels planned in the coming weeks, the service had to be done early.

This was my first visit to Marvel FIAT in Erode. Around 90kms from Coimbatore. The back to back bad experiences with CAI SA's; had decided to stay away from them and was planning to service at True Sai in Salem, but with positive reviews from dhans4all decided to check out Marvel.

      The experience at Marvel:

Dhans helped to book a slot for me for Saturday and the only demand from us was that we need the car back on the same day and they had agreed. I reached the service center at 10am sharp and the service manager and SA were right at the entrance. The job card was prepared in no time and once my complaints were noted, they went on a test drive. Seemed sort of a detailed drive for about 10 min. My only complaint was on a minor rattle that seemed to come from the FR door, but after the drive they confirmed that it was from the gear cable and not the door.

Had opted for the regular check list of oil, oil filter, fuel filter, airfilter and pollen filter change along with wheel alignment. Opted out of the balancing since it was recently done during the tyre change. Also done was the brake cleaning.

The car was taken in at 10:30 and by 12:30 it was ready after the test drive! That was pretty quick considering the calm and composed nature in which the technicians were working on. Now it was time for the wash and when they had completed the interior vacuuming, it was the customary lunch break from 1 to 2pm. The washing was resumed at 2pm and I took delivery around 3PM.

Only downside I thought was the time taken for washing and the wiping quality too has room for improvement. Another not so good factor was them charging 2% for credit card payment (something most FASS are doing now).

      The bill amount was Rs.5600/-

All in all a very pleasant experience at Marvel and hope they continue the great work

Last few visits to Marvel Fiat was good for me and I started going there just to save time and fuel because True Sai, Salem is about 50 km from place and this place is just 21kms. The technicians are quick and good, the experience is almost same as Truesai.

The have a particular test drive route consists of good roads, gravel roads and bad stretches and its a bit long but deserted.

the Billing and washing Quality needs an improvement and 2% charges for CC is let down, this practice is almost in all places now. its pretty small facility and with low volume getting the car back on same day is easy. They always delivered my car in max 4 hours except for my timing chain work as they wanted to keep the car overnight with sump fixed again.

I'd again insist, this is not just a mere facelift. Fiat has done a terrific job on improving even the aspects that was already great!
Yes you are right and I really enjoy the same with my new Punto Evo-90HP. I feel these cars viz., linea punto and avventura from Fiat has every part designed with attention to detail unlike other cars in the market. Few glaring example is the new audio setup and blue&me setup. Old audio player had issues of not picking songs from pen drive, aux and USB slots inconveniently located. No such issues in the new fiats esp with new audio system and interiors.
All I can see is that there is an attention to detail in each part of these cars.

The odo finally crossed the 15k mark. That was due to the back to back drives to Valparai and Rameswaram last week! Apart from that car has been just perfect and I surely felt the need for a remap during the rameswaram drive.

I had the company of my uncle's 10 year old Corolla 1.8 due to which the FE took a beating in this drive. Almost every time I was upshifting above 3200 rpm

The pics and details of the Valparai drive are in here A quick drive to Valparai with the FIAT's!

Rameswaram was very very hot! Not many pics, managed to click few on the return leg of the journey:

The corolla completed 10yrs recently, the Linea is just 1

Car has limped across the 20k mark. Apart from a trip to Chettinadu and then to Bengaluru, it has been mostly confined to city runs. Come march and it's gonna complete 2 yrs.
I had also upgraded the speakers. The Morel tempo 6 comps from my car has gone into this one now and for the rear got the xenos co-axials. No other changes to the ICE as of now.

Why xenos for the rear? Cost factor plus since it came with silk dome tweeters, thought it will go better with the tempo 6.

      Some pics from the drive.

Got the 2 yrs / 3rd free service done in the last week of Feb 2017. Drove from Coimbatore to Salem to get the service done at True Sai. Decided True Sai over marvel just for the sheer pace at which the work gets done. Being the 24 months service, all fluids were changed.

Additionally got led installed for the foot level and also in the boot

Work as usual was done in super quick time and delay was only in the alignment and wash. So around 4pm the car was delivered.
