      MotoGP Argentina

What makes the man so special is the fact that he adds grit, spice and drama to the races. Marquez is a much quicker rider on a super Honda at the moment and here is 46 doing what he does best. What does one say!

Rossi reels in Marquez to take victory in Argentina

Is it just me or did Rossi brake a bit too much into the corner trying to get Mark to back off?

Sad that he crashed. Would have been a great fight till the end.

This season seems to be the best of Rossi's career, Yamaha isn't as fast as Ducati or Honda but the Legend always doesn't need superior equipment,

After watching the video, I tried googling to find out what speed he was doing when he crashed. But could not. Anyway found two other fun facts about Moto GP.

Marquez holds the world record for top speed with the Honda RC213V 1000cc which is 350.5 km/h at 2015 Qatar.

More shocking is that the record for 125cc GP (set by Rossi in '96) is 249 km/h

Just to add to this, the honda was a technically superior machine, underlined by the fact that for the last two years, Pedrosa playing second fiddle to Marquez always iterated that the honda had that something extra, the yamaha is doing better and is more competitive this year, but clearly COTA favored the Honda. Rossi's utter ruthlessness as a racer has been tested by the following: Biaggi, Gibernau, Stoner, and even his own team mate(Lorezno at his home race is Catalunya), while I agree that Marquez is a fabulous rider, as is anyone in their prime, Rossi has far more humility, the evidence of which are the years that now have gone by with him not winning the crown, any other Motogp champ under the same circumstances would have quit, as is usually the case, they leave the sport when they realise they are not competitive or they get hurt.

Where he is different is that he constantly reinvents his set of skills, he comes up with new ways of to keep himself competitive, and that is the reason that even in this time of commercialization of the sport, he is only behind the Great Agostini in GP wins, and given his competitiveness I wouldn't be entirely surprised if he surpassed him, he has only 12 more to go, and I think Rossi has it in him. He is the only person apart from one other who has back to back wins on two different manufacturers(Honda and Yamaha) his career has spanned almost 20 years, and to be able to get so far can't be left to talent alone

All respect to Marquez though, even after the incident. he still was respectful of Rossi, though MotoGP champs have Giant ego's to go along with them, he has wisdom and Calm much above his years of which there are only 22, contrasting to Casey Stoner whose Skill and Talent was only dwarfed by his whiny attitude.Anyhow, it's gonna be a great season

i think they both carried too much speed into the corner, which is evident from the fact that he missed the apex, Marc could afford to take the tighter line and tried to rocket out of the corner, and Rossi probably thought that he had closed the door on him, only to feel Marc's front tire catch him in the small of his back, while Rossi flipped to take the chicane, Marc was unfortunately too close and his front caught Rossi's back tire. There was no way Marc would have been able to keep Rossi behind, he was a second a lap faster. What he should have done was fought and realised he didn't have the grip to fight with him that day. But owing to the fact that he is so used to winning the sorts of dog fights, he didn't think of the flip side at all. While the result is academic. The psychological effects are going to be significant. That the technological superiority of of honda's machine is now not a major factor anymore.

But if you see during the move, Marquez came inside when Dr was taking the right and that is when he touched the rear of the Dr bike.

DOn't know whose fault it is, but both were aggressive in the last laps

Its not a question of Fault, on a race track moves are termed questionable and the outright wrong. here it is quite clear, Rossi came on the inside of Marquez and was way faster so he could not take the tighter line, Marquez Banking on that fact took the tighter line. Rossi thought he had gone past him and proceeded to move across, Marquez was clearly accelerating hard in a bid to overtake Valentino on the next chicane and managed to plow into Valentino, Rossi changed direction for the chicane and Marquez was just too close. His Front caught Rossi's rear. What I am happy about it that there is no finger pointing, wether its Marques, Rossi or Honda, they have all accepted what has happened and moved on , doesn't happen a lot in this competitive an environment thats for sure

I feel he should have left some space for Marc. This move reminds me of what Senna would usually do. Put himself in a position where the other driver/rider would have to choose if he wants to take the risk. If he chickened out, then Senna knew he had him. That's the first thing I felt when I saw this incident.

There is a video running around Youtube, with different camera angles and slow mo showing how Rossi shut the door on Marc and may have even eased off on the throttle to unsettle Marc into trying to change direction or brake. It's the oldest trick in the book.

Glad that the incident was passed off as a "racing incident". Same thing in F1 would have seen a huge hue and cry and one of the drivers would have been penalized.

This should heat things up a bit. Rest of the season should be good fun.
