Need help deciding on preowned Honda Accord !

      Hi guys ,
I am on a lookout for a preowned car mostly Honda Civic or accord.

      Came across the following deal
      Honda accord , 2010 model , single owner , 2.4l model , AUTOMATIC
1 lac kilometers done but with full service record ( done for every 5k kms).

Quoted price was 7.5 lacs. Is this a good deal ? Can I proceed with this ?

The car looks new . Took a test drive and it was driving as if it was out of the showroom just now !!

      1) Can I proceed with the deal?
      2) Is 1 lac kms too much on the odo? How much life will be left on the engine?
      3) How much FE can I expect from the car ? Its a 2.4l model.
      4) Should anything be replaced specifically after 1 lac kms or just routine service is enough?
      5) How much will be the average maintenance costs? Would help if someone could post the breakup of routine parts replaced.

      Accord run 1L for 7.5L?

Suggest you run as far away as possible.

You should be able to get good civic and accord with less ODO at that price point OR lesser too .
I remember few months back Someone in chennai got 2009 1.8 Civic S AT 65 K ODO at 5.75 ( which is think is very very attractive price ).
There are higher chances to find Petrol civic/accord with low ODO and good price.
i would suggest to pass this accord

Too expensive. Might be worth a shot for 5-6L.

If it has been serviced regularly with the right grade of oil, the engine is probably just waking up.

It should be similar to a Civic.

Routine service, and suspension components, depending on what condition they are in.

Usually you just need to replace fluids, filters, brake pads, and occasionally, the clutch. I'm not sure what exactly the service interval is, or the individual component prices are.

All that said, the K24 is a sweet engine by itself, and even sweeter to modify. If not for the sheer size of the car, I would be driving an Accord. If you manage to knock down the price, it should be a decent buy. Of course, you also need to keep in mind that you can get used Laura TSIs in the same ballpark which will blow the Accord away in stock form. So weigh your options carefully.

Any idea on the average costs of these?

Sweeter to modify? Can u shed more light on this? This engine seems to be the slowest reaching 0-100 in 10 secs . Isnt the figures bad for a 2.4L car?

According to the Honda tech this engine will easily clock 2.5 lac kms

Also read through this thread which Mclarren mentioned https://gearheads.in/showthread.php?...ord-a-good-buy

Like 007 mentioned for 5-6 lac is right about the price for a 1lac on the odo Accord.

Managed to get close to 6L.

Now @100k kms , heard from the driveaccord forums that the timing belt , water pump and gasket , seals , etc have to be replaced .
Is the info true ? How much will these cost? Do these need opening up the engine?
Will the car be reliable after that?

And the auto tranny in the accord . Does this have any defects/ problems just like the DSG issue in Skoda?

Too high a price.. Would suggest to stay away from a car which has done 1 lakh kms in Indian conditions even otherwise, unless it is one of those tried and tested Diesel engines...

Why don't you consider something little germanish... Maybe a previous gen 320d, price maybe similar or slightly higher.. Not sure... Or the petrol Audi A4.. I believe there was a tfsi engine option available, which maybe available as well...

I have personally seen accords that are well driven that lasted for more than 3L kms before it needed any work on the engine. You might need touched on the water pump and timing belt change. These could already have been done at the 80k or 90k service. None of these need the engine to be "opened up".

Regular service costs for the accord will be at par with the civic but Honda India can throw you a nasty surprise for the odd part which does not fail often, like the o2 sensors and stuff.

There are no known issues with the Accord Auto box like the infamous DSG issues with skoda.

If you want a luxury car with minimal maintenance and are not too worried about the driving characteristics, then this car should be good for you. Bargain harder, there are not many takers for the Accord these days because of the low FE (8 to 10 in city and 11 to 12 in highway with sane driving) and the model having been stopped. The 1L km mark is also a psychological issue for us in India! Use it to your advantage if you decide to go for this car.

quicksilver already mentioned about this. and since all the service records are there it would not be too hard to find out when these were done.

Like i mentioned in another post take it to Honda ASC and ask them to do a full checkup - they will check the car completely, and give you an estimate as well . that price should be deducted from your buying price.

Ideally get it checked from a honda Asc which has not serviced this car. regularly. ( some ASC will fudge info for regular customers)

On a side note any particular reason for buying the accord ?
