      2016 Innova Crysta

Toyota has give many facelifts for innova , which were mostly cosmetic. But there was always a news that something new is going to be added but nothing happened, Was about to buy the 2014-15 facelift but news of 2016 innova has delayed it.

Is the 2016 innova a completely new vehicle or a big facelift compared to the minor/grill facelifts earlier.

Is the 2016 model shown in the 3rd pic real or just a artist's depiction.

The base trim will come with tilt and telescopic steering, multimedia system with a seven-inch screen with USB, AUX, SD card, voice command, headlamp halogen and cooling glove box as standard.

The top of the line Q variant will boast of projector lens headlamps with LED lights and emergency brake signal in the rear lights. This trim comes with smart key, a total of seven airbags, vehicle stability control (VSC) and hill assist control (HAC).

The GD 2.4-litre diesel engine replaces the old KD 2.5litre engine. The new engine develops 147bhp and 359Nm of torque mated to manual gearbox. The diesel engine is also available with automatic transmission will have slightly lesser torque of 342.2Nm while power remains the same. That will depend from person to person.

Sugastian - I think you are going about it the wrong fashion.

First list down what you want in a car in the following order..

      1. A budget you are willing to spend - Maximum.
      2. Features and benefits you absolutely will not do without
      3. Features and benefits you wish it had - but can do without
      4. Any additional requirements if any (brand image, resale value etc)

Make sure you are clear about what kind of vehicle you want - a car or a crossover, MUV, SUV etc. Is it going to be self driven , the number of occupants, number of number of kms you expect to use in a year, the number of years you want to own it for etc, if you like sporty performance or a comfortable ride.. etc etc etc.

We can then help you put together a list of vehicles that meet your requirements. We can debate and help you narrow it down to a list of cars you should test drive. Once you are done with the test drives, we can further narrow it down to a couple of options, and then debate the pros and cons in detail before you make a decision.

Take your time, list down everything I have said, and start a new thread in the What Car do I buy? section. Make sure your post is as comprehensive and detailed as you can make it - and you will find more and more people participating and helping with your decision making.

I recently took a innova taxi to airport and got into a discussion with the driver. The car was 2008-9 model, driven 6 lakh km+, no major changes done, original suspension, shockers etc. The ride was very pliant and comfortable, no rattles. Service costs were around 8-9k per service including oil. He told me that he had another one that had done 9lakh km, no engine, suspension or shocker work done on that too and was still sold at around 3 lakhs. Now I know why Innova is the king of taxis even after costing more than its peers.

We are once again at the position when Qualis was discontinued and Innova was being brought. Qualis being launched at 5.8 lakhs on road starting I guess and now on Innova touching 20 lakhs in current time and now the production has also been stopped

I hope tha current Innova continues as it being bread and butter product of Toyota will sell in healthy numbers alongside the new Innova

New Innova dosent have that excitement, energetic feeling one used to get to look at the first Innova.Click image for larger version.

The first two on the left are my choice of version of Innova. Simplicity with elegance I would define.
