Suzuki Baleno steering vibration at higher speeds

      Hi Guys,

I got my new new Baleno alpha 1.3 4 days back and done hardly 200Kms. I have changed the stock alloys from NEXA to another model before the delivery and they had done a wheel alignment when it was changed. Yesterday I had a chance to take the car to highway and noticed that there is a vibration on steering wheel after crossing 110km/hr. I don't usually drive at high speeds but this was done to test the vehicle.

      • I confirmed it was not the road issue by checking it on 3 different roads and result was same
      • Tyre pressure was put to 32psi as per recommendation and checked but the issue was still there
      • Went to Service center today and done the wheel alignment again, but the issue still exists

Any other Baleno owners here to help me out. What is the maximum speed you have gone till now. Did you faced this issue on highways. Where ever I am checking they are pointing their fingers on wheel alignment. But it has eliminated now and no idea what to check next. I couldn't feel any issues in suspension and there is no suspecting sounds while driving. When called Bimal NEXA they have told to visit service center again. Any advise would be really helpful.I am really concerned about this now.

You should rather check the balancing and tyre swapping front -> back. Are the tires unidirectional?

I am having the stock good year tyres only. I think it is unidirectional tyres, not 100 percent sure though. Tomorrow I am going to service center again and I will check swapping tyres.

Seems like a balancing issue, not alignment.

Also, not sure if the alloys are fitting perfectly on the hub. Usually you need to use something called as "hub centric rings". These two could be the reasons for the wobbles.

Nothing to do with alignment. Get the wheels balanced first, if the issue still persists, try hub centre rings.

Booked an appointment with BIMAL service center tomorrow as suggested by NEXA. Will try wheel balancing tomorrow. Thanks a lot for the reference. I don't have full confidence on Maruthi guys. Mostly I will require one

      Hi All,

Thanks a lot for all your responses!

NEXA guys has not done wheel balancing when they changed the alloys. In fact they had told me that the price which I payed for alloys includes wheel balancing and Alignment, but they actually did not do it. The issue was sorted out when Maruthi guys did a wheel balancing.

Yeah.. that was a straight fix. Just wondering, why didn't the get this in the first go; why did they had to do the alignment again.
