      Question Which 125 CC bike?

      Hi everyone!

I am planning to buy a 125 CC bike. Daily usage will be less than 10km, but monthly 1 or 2 runs to home town of 70 kms.

I considered Hero Glamour, but decided against it as Hero's suspensions are really bad, and gets hard quite fast.

How is Bajaj Discover? I read somewhere that Bajaj bikes need lot of maintenance. Is that true?

      What are other options?

Thanks in advance for your kind suggestions/advises.

So along with a new car, you getting a bike as well? Can you not use your Swift for your 10km use as well? Also, why a bike and not something like Activa or something similar?

Yes. I'm planning to change my bike as well. A car cannot be trusted on a mission critical days at office due to the heavy traffic in the morning.

+1 to Honda Shine Or Suzuki Slingshot. If you're OK with the scooter types then Activa / Swish / Fascino. They're far less painful for traffic & good for short commutes.

Best part is, even females of home can use them for short trips to nearby places.

Why does it have to be a 125. IMO, for commuting the good old Splendor is still unbeatable.

We had one (110 cc non e/s) for the last 8 years and maintenance was not a problem at all. I had to change the silencer because a part of it had rusted out. It set me back by ~INR 2000/- few years back. The bike ran 37k kms and now being used sparingly.

70 kms one way/ round trip twice a month is going to be a bit of a strain both on the rider and the bike. What's your budget ? Something from Suzuki's stable should be a good choice.
