Lol, I meant use the handbrake with the car in neutral barneyX. Only a fool would leave the car in first gear, put the handbrake and not have the clutch pressed

There are many factors affecting mileage like usage of clutch, gearshift pattern, idling on traffic lights, tyre pressure and RPM at various speeds, if not, then the fuel lines or injector may be clogged due to harsh conditions get the injectors cleaned and also check the quality of fuel used in the car.

hehehe .... thats what was on my mind too....

but, why would one need to have the handbrake up while in neutral? the car wouldnt be moving anyway, right?

The car would roll if theres a slope; best way is: neutral and handbrake.

I own HYUNDAI i10 1.2 SPORTZ bought on 22/12/2010 and as of now I am extremely happy about the ownership and reliability The ODO has clocked in 11000 kms so far. I have driven the car under very worst road conditions despite this the maintenance cost of the car is ZERO except for OIL CHANGE. The Engine is silent and most reliable so also the suspension, brakes , gear shifts etc. I thank Hyundai for bringing out such a beautiful Hatchback which is class in itself

On highways I get around 20+km and within the city limits I get around 16+ in a place like Bangalore and its mad traffic.

With respect to Tyre Pressure of Hyundai i10 there are divided opinion such as Authorised Service Centre says it should be 30psi whereas Owner's Manual says it should be 33psi and with full load it should be 34psi can you please enlighten?

now, after 8778 kms, 1 and 3/4th of a year later.. Finally My i10 gives 12kmpl average with 100% a/c..

last tank full (cutoff) 27Liters ran for 340Km = 12.59
last emergency fuelling at Spur Tank road Indian Oil pump.. 7liters (rs.500) ran for 100km = 14kmpl...
current tank full 29liters and the countdown has started..

Either I've got used to my car or the car's gotten used to me.. Pretty happy now..

Only things changed (engine Section) till now, Engine Oil, Air filter..
