Drastic discrepancy between Polo TSI 2015 and Polo TSI 2016 tyre pressures

      Hi Guys,

I came across this piece of info and want to your opinion about it
      1. This is the pressure recommendations for a Oct 2015 Polo GT TSI
      29/29 with 2 front pax
32/35 with 5 pax and luggage
This is usually the norm for a long time
      http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/attach...-pressures.jpg

      2. This is the pressure recommendations for a Nov 2016 Polo GT TSI
      36/33 with 2 front pax
36/38 with 5 pax and luggage
      http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/attach...3758-large.jpg

What do you think has caused this huge discrepancy?
      1. Wrong sticker stuck for the 2016 Polo
      2. VW wanted to improve fuel economy
      3. Some mechanical component has changed (unlikely)
      4. They found this new pressure to be ideal during their recent testing?
      Thanks,
      Ragesh G R

I have 2011 1.2 tdi polo. I just keep 32 psi for all tyres. Once tyres were set to 35-38 psi due to analog meter, which was found later with a digital meter.

But when i was driving with 35-38 psi the gearshifts were very smooth.

Ya, I usually have 30/30 since mostly it is 1 or 2 ppl. Gear shifting is smooth? May be because 35-38 reduced the rolling resistance and the car coasted easily?
      Thanks,

I wonder if the manufacturers recommend different air pressure in the cars sold in different parts of the country. For example a car sold in north may have different recommendation than a car sold in south. OEM tyre make and model also may be the reason for varied recommendation.

Strange if they decide to change the tyre pressure without making any changes to car or tyre size. It there any change in ARAI mileage too ?
