Only problem is, how do we share the rent amount and the time each of us have with the car. And what if someone crashes the car?
If we can keep the count say 4 per car (assuming it will be possible) we can do 20-30 minute session/driver.
So you'll get around 1Hr track time (in a 1/2 day session)

Crash - IMO its a one off. How many of us has gone off let alone crashed our cars on MMST.

How much does this "car" costs ?
Maybe if enough guys are there we can buy a Gearhead car. Say what ?

Riju, driving the single seater is very different to driving our road cars. And its so very easy to spin these cars, all you have to do is just accelerate a little early and you will be on the grass. The point I was trying to make is, if anyone damages the car (which IMO is very easy to do) and it has to be repaired, won't the rest lose out on time? And eventually the money? That is the only problem I see with renting out a single seater by a group of people. But I am all game to give it a try.

Actually, I have always wanted to buy one of these. Driving a single seater around the track is a different kick all together. And buying one will get us access to Kari as well. Never bothered to find out how much these cost. But I am expecting they should be atleast 3-4L mark.

Yeah too old to be Schumacher anyway so rent and drive is the next best thing.
3-4L sounds reasonable only of I had "spare" money and a truck (to take the car to/from track)

I'm in, if the things go smooth, the price is right, and the people pitching in together now, dont become sworn enemies later.
4L is a lot of money. if the price has to be right, then more people need to be involved. the more people that get involved, more the chances of disagreements later on.
so right now, it doesnt look doable.
but you know me, I'm always willing to try new stuff. so we should think about this more, probably in another thread

Yeah ture, this can happen. Unless folks who are getting involved understands the risks involved.
This most certainly will be an "investment" without any return except "fun".
If that is cool we are already half way there.

Not necessary. We could also rent the car out during races or to other like minded people and recover some money back. Or probably pick a used FISSME (800 engine) to begin with that will cost a lot less?

Probably we should have a new thread for this?

What if some "nut" totals it ? I guess these things cannot be insured right ?

Yeah, since it weighs less, should still be fun.

New thread seems to be the logical choice. We are cluttering the Track thread. Can you please copy these posts to the new one ?

      EDIT :
Can we get a chassis and bolt on a Baleno engine from some scrapped car ?

If someone totals it or damages it, they pay for the damages caused. And no, these cannot be insured.

Yeah, since it weighs less, should still be fun.
It is super fun. The prominent difference between a FISSME and a LGB would be more towards its handling characteristics. The FISSME makes you feel on the edge all the time. The LGBs are a lot more stable.

      Done.

Doubt it. The chassis would have been fabricated to mate with a certain engine. Also one must keep in mind if the rest of the components can handle the addition power, torque, weight etc.
