I sincerely hope that your car remains trouble free and fun to drive at the same time
But, I have heard quite a few cases of DSG giving up, even recently.
One case is of our fellow gearhead member Rohan Yadav having MY2016 GT TSI. I have also read about a 40k driven GT TSI whose gear box packed up in Pune.(VW FASS replaced it at no extra cost though despite being out of warranty. That's a good gesture).
Have booked a resort for tomorrow in Kashid. Supernova will further munch some 300 odd kms during the trip. Hopefully, this will rejuvenate us for the summers![]()
Still very much present
I know 3 people who bought GT TSIs in 2016-2017
All of whom dont have good things to say about reliability etc
Replacement is no biggie, any brand these days will replaceme engine and transmission if found to be problematic(Read-Ford Ecosport engine replacement for 1st batch diesels, S Cross 1.6 instances- only 2 so far)
Are you seriously willing to risk being stranded without a car and go through the stress of a potentially unreliable car?
Frankly after seeing my SILs Polo which she sold to buy Baleno CVT within 3 years is enough for me to stay away from Germans as much as possible
In luxury segment, surely there arent many non-European options for enthusiasts but in the <45L range, there are many non- Euro cars which give much more for the price than the Germans
**UPDATE**
Supernova finally clocked 42K kms.
Was out of country couple of times in last couple of months and hence the low running. Other reason is, I have made my old petrol Indica mechanically fit and using that for office commutes.
Michelin finally suffred a puncture after the marathon of 12K kms in 8 months. It lost the battle to quite a big nail almost 2 inches in size.
There should and will be more updates in monsoon.![]()
I thought of going to lohegad fort this weekend. This was my first time there. This fort is quite near from Pune situated near lonavla.
Left at 8 and reached around 9:30 am in that place. However, on climbing the (steep) ghat, came to know that parking is full and people are coming down tp park at their will even in turns of ghat section. Dropped the idea then and there, as I was not comfortable in parking the linea in ghat section which was very narrow with steep turns.
Thought of going to the karla caves(which is near from there) and there also encountered the board that parking is full.
Took a U turn and went towards lonavla. Nothing to guess that Lonavala was jam packed with tourists. A choke at every place. Traffic was continuous there till lion point. We spent few minutes there and returned for Pune. Had tasty and sumptuous lunch at Kinara village hotel. We reached just in time(and consider ourselves lucky) here so that we were able to choose the seat where we want to dine. While we were leaving, we saw that they were was a long wait time already.
I was visiting Lonavala or any place near pune during 'season' weekend for the first time after almost 5-6 years. Crowd has increased by leaps and bounds!
Few pics of the day.
Lion's point. Greenery everywhere was beautiful.
A small stop enroute
This was taken earlier during a mumbai trip
