      1. Performance
      2. Maintenance
      3. Practicality
      4. VFM
      5. Sales and Parts
      6. Cost of Ownership (Sore tooth concept)

Please free to add more and provide your insights on the same

PS: I am eyeing for a Used and not a brand New one and this Bike will stay with me for a long time...

      1. Performance
      Ninja 300
      2. Maintenance
Both are almost same, spare parts on the higher side when compared to the Honda's
      3. Practicality
I found the 300R better in terms of handling and vibes while riding compared to the Duke 390. Have not ridden 250 so its your call
      4. VFM
      250
      5. Sales and Parts
regular service costs on par with the Honda's
      6. Cost of Ownership (Sore tooth concept)
With this being the only criterion, 250.

      Points in favour of 250R
-Some old units were CBUs from Japan. If you land one such unit, you can keep it for a long time as they age very well.
-Great attention to detail with vibration dampening screws, risers and pads used wherever necessary
-Lovely vibration isolation and a nice seat.
Final Thought: Not really powerful (34bhp or thereabouts afaik) but a comfortable mile muncher which has a nice retro look.

Points in favour of Ninja 300
      -Slipper clutch
      -Light and flickable
      -Looks like a big bike
      -Good aftermarket scene

-ves of 300 - not as refined as the 250R

      Common points:
-parts on back order take a long time
-competent service personnel (or lack of it).
      -Expensive service (4-5k min)
-Good capacity fuel tank (18L on 250R, 17L on 300)
Sometimes, It is better to count our blessings than think about what we didn't get.

Thanks Arch-Angel; anyway to easily identify if it is a CBU / CKDU or any manufacturing year that i can bank on to confirm this?

Have heard this from a friend who currently owns a 300 and who had a 250 earlier. However the 49 cc & 6hp difference matters in overall performance i believe

Technically, the VIN should contain all this information I believe.

You ask any ricer, any serious
      ricer. It doesn't matter if

Haven't ridden either bikes. I don't know anyone with a Ninja 300 and the only friend who owns a Ninja 250 ( baranjil ) will take out a shot gun if anyone dare touches it.
