DIY Hella 60mm Quad Projector Setup for Zen Carbon

this is more of a pictolog. projectors are wired directly 100/90 wiring harness. i got male connectors for H4 socket and made wiring. ideally i would want both the beams to be on this to be more effective. for projectors have stock 9005/9006 bulbs in both low and high beam. used this setup for a month. this is completely modular can be taken off easily. infact, for now car is running with regular HLs. will pick up on this project once i have enough time on my hand. might go for HID or LED later and proper wiring changes to use both projectors on high beam. .. till then pichars will do the talking...

Good going...you should try HIDs in those projectors on the low beam ones and see the improvement

You should put back the front glass as well..it will look awkward without it. All you need is a BY255 diode on the wiring harness to make both lamps come on.

Don't mean to derail your thread but I got my hands recently on a pair of halogen projectors as well..

      Fixed low beam projector

      55W halogen bulb

      100W halogen bulb

      55W HID

      Great Project.
The glass needs to be go on. Even it its just for cosmetic Purposes.
Also, the low beam is going off when high beam is engaged. Use an 20A rated Diode on High beam+ towards low beam + for solving this.

that looks neat SunnyBoi , looks like even in your case the beam pattern is little weird ---\___ ___/---

i would have to do the change in my set up as my beams are for Right Hand drive regions ___/--- ___/--- , i need to reverse them by opening the projectors and these are completely sealed housings.
Hella 60mm low beam has pretty sharp cutoff - not evident in my pics though.. will search and post beam pattern if i find in my old phone.
bhvm projectors protrude out a lot and would have to fabricate a custom lens but still it would not be a tight seal and would need constant cleaning! Ram Kumar i was tempted to get whole front fascia of car in fiberglass - including the grill as one piece. but then that's a different project altogether.

Yeah, I'll test them on a wall soon and maybe play around with the shield a bit. They'll be weatherproofed and used as aux lights on a friend's car soon.

Hi, just loved your DIY. A great fix for the weak M800 HLs.
I just had a chat with a hella customer care person regarding these modules and they confirmed that these are indeed waterproof which was my main requirement.
Not available at the local distributors in my area, he guided me to amazon.in where it can be available for a INR10 difference than the quoted price at hella website.
What is the current status of your project?
I am hooked to your thread.
      Any modification on the shields?

at the moment the modules are off the car. i need to open up the low beam projectors to set the shield correct for Right Hand Side driving roads to get the correct beam cut-off: these projectors are meant for export market. i have got high temp glue for this [JB Weld]. this task still pending.
also, need to sort out the wiring to keep the both beams ON on High Beam mode as described above.

Also, if cutting/modifying the shield to exact norms is not possible, is it advisable to go for a straight cut-off like in some fog projectors?
