      D.I.Y. Rust repair.

I found a few spots of rust under the paint last year and yesterday I punctured one of them and saw that I needed to do something before the winter.
The left panel has a stripe of rust that has extended from about 1/2 cm in diameter to about 20 cm long and about 2 cm wide in just a year, The right door had a tiny stone chip that has grown to about 10 cm long and about 2 cm wide.
Today I went out and got the materials for the job. Ferro-Bet rust eater, 1K filler putty, black filler primer, Dragon Green base colour, 2K clear coat, tack cloth and spreading spatulas. I will finish the job with a blending solvent to avoid visible over spray.
The rust on the side panel is in between 2 panels that are glued together so I am using a very thin watery rust eater to get in between the panel joints.
Depending on the weather, I might start tomorrow. Most of the job will be done outdoors.

Yesterday I treated the rust with Ferro-Bet and it seems to be eating the rust after only one coat. I will continue until the rust in between the joint is gone before I grind the surface for the primer and filler.
It is raining today so nothing more will be done until it stops raining.

Ferro-Bet must be the best. This is as thin as water and leaves the rusted area clean and grey in colour. I noticed that the Ferro-Bet 30 years ago was much better before they removed all the dangerous stuff from it.
I just scrape off all the loose rust and spray it on

I don't think you can get that in India. You should be trying the import route. What Indian has showed are products from Europe

True but something similar should be available in India.
