Going to try shell v power diesel for first time.

My intenstion is to get the injectors etc cleaned up during the highway run coming up.

Car is on 40 K as of now, and till now ran on regular diesel.

Am not intending to use it regularly but occassionaly for the cleaning capacity it appears to have.

Anybody here have a long term review or feedback?

For regular purpose am intending to fill from the ioc bunk in hsr.

Have used Shell V Power Diesel on my XUV which had run 1.1L kms now (Have tried V Power Diesel atleast a couple of between during 70-80K kms) & honestly nothing so great to mention. Rather I've got better performance (Both mileage & smooth revs from engine) from normal diesel from Reliance & Essar outlets here in Chennai. To me the V Power doesn't do any magic as they advertise and doesn't justify the extra 7-8 bucks over normal diesel. Shell Petrol on the other hand is better than its Diesel. Again V Power Petrol I didn't find any difference over the normal ones.

I have tried this Ferrari developed Shell V-Power once because the station offered me the fuel for the same price as standard fuel. I did not notice anything different. If there was, I did not feel that the car ran the 0-100, .00002 seconds faster.
I will say that shell V-power is a waste of money. Let Ferrari drivers pay for that fuel.

Yes. My intention is not increasing the performance though, but getting a cleanup of the system as the addictives are claiming to have effect on engine, injectors etc. Its claiming to loosen and clear the carbon deposits if any.

If that's your intention then you're better off using Stanadyne Diesel additive which had got good reviews by our very own forum members tadukuttan, Digital Vampire. I too have that used myself and its better with normal Diesel like BP, HP, Indian Oil. With Reliance or Essar I didn't face much difference so I'm sticking with the Reliance / Essar outlets only. But finding one will be a challenge for you now

Just an update to this after my drive.

I have felt not much of a performance improvement but towards the end of the journey i found out low air preassure in my tyres. Still the car managed to get 21Kmpl.

I have filled the half empty tank again to brim from Coimbathore with normal diesel from HP coco.

Drive was mixed between constant triple digit highway cruising (max went to 130kmph i guess), varying speeds between 30 to 80 towards start of my drive due to heavy highway traffic, slower movement once i entered kerala state etc.

Normal diesel with healthy air preassure in tyres i gets between 22, 23 for my car in longer highway drives like these.
