      Question Windshield wiper leaving marks

      hi all,

i have used the normal water for washing liquid and in my windshield wiper leaving marks on it.

Last time when i gave service they added some washer fluid and cleaned the glass with some solution. after that water was not sticking to the glass [as like water on a lotus leaf] days passed now the wipers leaves mark on the glass. is there any solution to remove the mark and make the glass as before. please suggest on this.

If the hardness in water in your place is too high, it may leave behind hard water stains on the windshield. Your best bet would be to use 1:1 solution of Vinegar mixed with water, spray on windshield and wipe it off after a minute or two and repeat until all hard water stains are removed. But you've to bear the stinky smell of Vinegar

I use water with some dish washing liquid. About a tablespoon for 5 liters of water will do and more is not better. These detergents have water softening agents.

Won't that cause slight foaming on the windshield even if its in such small quantities ?

Use less if it foams too much. When I use my washer, I get a white spray but it keeps my windscreen clean and scratch free. There is no need to buy specialised products to keep your windscreen clean. I add a small amount of isopropanol for summer use. For the winter I add more depending on temperature to prevent icing.
You can start by adding 1 tablespoon of soap and go from there. When a bug hits the screen, I can remove it at once if I use the washer before it dries.
The liquids sold in bottles with fancy labels are a waste of money.

I have never thought of this before but you can always try it out for a few days. It will never be worse than plain water.
