      Honda Civic 2019?

Yesterday saw a Red Honda Civic 2019 on Old Madras Road. No number plate. It looked good. Here is the picture that i could take while i was waiting for right turn and the Civic was moving in leftmost lane.
I should be having its clear video on my dashcam recorder as i had overtaken it earlier.

The Civic does look awesome. The Si and Hatchbacks are even better looking IMO. Brilliantly packaged, oodles of space, good engines (in US at least), brilliant ride and handling package. It's the best Civic till date IMO.

Would be great to have the Si model here as well, since it lacks a manual version for its Petrol variant in India.

Good car. I think this is the only car which offers rear multilink suspension in this segment. Don't know why they still offer that old skool engine 1.8 ivtec. No turbocharged engine on petrol.

This is sad. An 1.8 has a far higher insurance than a 1.6 Turbo! So why not offer that!

Saw an ad for Civic at the airport. IT said "Epic is here"

It sure is. I am so glad they didn't try to launch something like Civic-RV or something.

They have interesting engine options for petrol and diesel. Petrol is CVT but diesel is MT.

My view is the reverse should have been the case. At the very least, a diesel AT. The pricing announced have pitted it directly against the Octavia which is better in most respects, unfortunately a bad A.S.S and reputation. The car otherwise is quite a looker.

Does it make any difference unless it is <1.5L? Please correct me if I'm wrong.

IMO, Civic is lot less than what it use to offer a decade back. Its grossly overpriced as well. Not sure, how much Honda can rely on the reliability factor.

At one end we have Elantra which can be a good and reliable buy and Octavia on the other for explosive performance. Civic is in no man's land.

      A 1.6l 120hp for a CRV/Civic??

Its 1.5. A friend has Verna 1.6L D, and he pays Third party insurance amount same as for 2.2L D.
