      MiniDSP C-DSP 8X12 Dirac Live

      Hello Guys,

MiniDSP has announced a Dirac live enabled C-DSP 8x12. the firmware will also be available to existing customers (we need to pay for it). I just read about it in the Minidsp forums.

This is the first ever car audio DSP with DIRAC Support. From what i have read most of the OEMS like BMW, Bentley, Rolls Royce use DIRAC in their systems. So it must be something good and I have high expectations.
Will be waiting for reviews to come in before i take the plunge.

      Here's the official forum link

DIRAC is an advanced room correction tool, now optimized for car. Most of it is automatically done with minimal user intervention.
Hoping to read some user reviews.

Also minidsp has accepted that the cdsp 8x12 has noise issue in some conditions and offered a replacement DSP board v2.0 to everyone. The new board comes with new 32 bit ADC/DDC/opamps and a new and improved design and more powerful architecture then V1 for the future features(Dirac 2.0 is on the list of future upgrades). These are the same converters which are used in helix pro mk2. You need to message to the support guys and they ll arrange a delivery for you. This is kind of a limited time recall. I have sent a mail to them. Let's see what they say.

People using minidsp please respond if you have faced any noise issues.

Just to clarify this is for everyone with noise issues only and noise issue from DSP is hard to diagnose. You have to make sure nothing else in your signal chain is causing the hiss/noise.

Update: I have installed the new board. There is definitely a improvement in the sound quality. The instrument separation is greater. I am just using the previous tune from V1. So I need to retune the setup. But there is a noticable improvement in the way it sounds. Here are some picsClick image for larger version.

How is the tuning process in the car, is it the same as how it is done for home audio. I intend to get a DDRC-24 for my home audio setup, I've read of the noise issues and is it the same for all their dsp's
