      My new toy

With 3 batteries and 220A in the car I wanted a smart charger which was small and easier to use and carry with me in the car. I went for a 15 A Victron Energy smart charger. My voltage sensitive relay is also from Victron. At 13.5V, both batteries connect and charge. At 12.8V they disconnect and the extra battery can be used without tapping the starter battery. The split charging system is wired so that I can fill up my starter battery from the battery under the front seat in case I run flat. To charge, I just connect the charger to the starter battery and the VSR takes care of the rest. I can also connect the charger to the extra battery to charge only that.
This setup must be perfect for those of you who run heavy ICE gear in their cars. The starter battery will always be fully charged.
This is the seventh charger I have bought over the years. My last expensive Ctek MXS 7.0 lasted only 3 years and it killed my battery.
The battery shop replaced the battery on warranty. Never trusted Ctek after that.
The 15A smart charger I have is noisy and heavy and I keep it in the car at all times. I use every opportunity to charge my batteries when I go on trips and sleep in the car as my fridge runs non-stop and I might need some extra juice for the heater. I used my 5 Kw parking heater for this before but now I have a 2 Kw air heater which is more effective.

This is the Victron Energy. I fitted a rubber bumper for some protection. Supposed to be smarter than the Ctek and has bluetooth.

      Noco G7200

I have been using Noco G7200 since 2014 and has worked well in few times I used. But best thing was I accidentally damaged the 'Mode' button and asked for support, I asked them to just send me switch part, but they shipped me new version of the unit instead

Thats surprising....in market its difficult to find good battery chargers....perhaps low demand. i use my home inverter to charge my car or bike batteries occasionally, serves the purpose but ease of use isn't there. Any address of the firm given on packaging?

Very surprising indeed. India isn't a manufacturing place for such things.

Victron Energy is more into solar power in homes and off grid use in vehicles. Camping stores have them in Europe. I bought mine online from a shop selling boats and caravans.

India does produce electronics. The worlds largest Samsung plant is in India and Huawei is there too. Looks like Bosch has moved the whole plant to India. The Bosch injectors in your German cars are made in India even though it says Bosch Germany on them.

      My new toy

Looks like everything is working just fine. My lesisure battery shows around 98% with only alternator charge 2 hours after I stop.
