      Kia Issues faced by Customer

Came across this article in news. Not sure to what an extent it is true but any Kia owners can shed some light on the statements in the news.

Below are the 7 points that have been discussed in the news

      1. Wrong Delivery Commitment
      2. Seemingly No Time For Accident Repairs
      3. Shockingly Terrible Mileage (1.4 DCT)
      4. Defective Car Delivered
      5. Technical Glitches
      6. Lacklustre DCT And Over Heating Issues
      7. Infotainment System Hangs Often

Nothing can be done about this. That pathetic Mileage is to be expected, Heavy Petrol SUV automatic, 7-8 is where the range will be. The Hyundai DCT does not seem to be as quick as the VW DSG and from what I have read is of the dry type (?) which really has issues with our bumper to bumper traffic and dust.

The other issues are not really acceptable, unfortunately I doubt if they have any recourse.

Not about the DCT, but did not find any other thread on Kia, so posting here.

For last few days i had been seeing some cars with Diwali lights across full width of Bonnet. In initial 1-2 sighting, i thought it could be an after market job. But as i saw more cars with same diwali strip, i thought it must be the Chinese blingy MG Hector. But was shocked to find it on Kia. Such a nice and decent looking car with gaudy diwali lights strip..

Going by the sales figures Kia is on a roll with people mostly happy about the product.

Petrol DCT is bound to give less mileage. One should know where they are putting before buying this variant. Heck, even the 1.5 IVT will also deliver something between 8-10 and not more than that in city scenarios.

IMHO these days its useless to check mileage of big SUV ish type vehicles in city conditions. 99% of the time it will be in stop and go traffic and vehicle will be literally running idle with AC on. What's the point in checking a mileage when the vehicle is not even moving I don't understand. But alas in our country the first thing people will come and ask is Kitna deta hei. Blame it on Maruti, they created this ******** mindset. Especially in cities like Bangalore and Chennai cars hardly move a meter in stop and go traffic conditions, and yet people complain of poor mileage

It is turning out to be a great marketing study.

Mileage reported for 7speed DCT auto box is 3-4kmpl - that is NOT acceptable in any circumstance. Engine heating issue where the dash warns for you to stop the car for safety concerns is of another level. I doubt I have seen anything like that in cars since Y2K. With a pricing of 10-17L it is not cheap by any definitions. I saw the car in person and I came out unimpressed. I'd still pick Harrier over Seltos given the service parameters being same for both the cars.

There has been an interesting trend to see that cars like Jeep Compass, Kia Seltos and MG Hector succeed on Indian market despite of no market presence, unknown car performance, skeptical service and pricing to be on slightly upper side.

Nissan, GM, Ford and Toyota must be wondering where did they go wrong?

Tiger Shroff, Meerkat and Benedict Cumberbatch maybe ?

On a side note, I've seen more adverts for these cars on Television than any others. Maybe the good old marketing does work after all.
