Cool Leisure Trip - Langkawi, Malaysia - April 2019

Me and my better half visited Langkawi during First week of April 2019 over a long weekend. Penning it down here.
Took an online visa good for one visit and we were ready. Flight was via Kuala Lumpur. We reached KL past Friday midnight and after a couple of hours layover in KL reached Langkawi early Saturday morning, took taxi and reached hotel. We had a return flight to KL for Sunday evening and a night stay there.

The Welcome to Langkawi sign. Was in two mind whether to take rental car from airport or not. So, skipped at that time and thought of deciding later.

There was a car rental shop besides our resort which had a positive reviews much better than the professional ones available at airport. Took a Nissan Sentra from them for 24 hours. Shop lady was quite good to talk and informal. Though i don't remember the price, but it was a very good deal.

This was 137000 ran Nissan with AT. Below is the shop.

The front look. Car was surprisingly nice to drive and held itself quite well despite the odometer reading.

Malaysia's weather is much like India's or HK's during summer. Very Hot!
So bearing this in mind, we left for first stop - the Eagle structure. This is a very famous destination in Langkawi.

The original name - Dataran Lang

There is nice small promenade kind of area is developed around it. It would be very nice in evening. However, the parking space was full even during afternoon, so better come in a taxi or public transport during that time.
      The sea view from promenade.

The heat was getting the better of the us and we started for the second place. This was the top most point for Langkawi. So, thought of grabbing some views from the top.

It was almost late evening and we left for the hotel, kept the car in parking and just strolled in the street for checking night life and local market.
Spent some time in the hotel restaurant near sea and called it a night enjoying the cool breeze.

Langkawi is very much underrated, great for couples. I went there for Honeymoon in 2017. We stayed at Tanjung Rhu Resort. I remember renting a Proton AT hatch from the Airport. Gas was super cheap 2 Ringgits/Liter. Wine was cheaper. I'd bought Royal Salute 21 Years for Rs.7k

We then visited the famous Kilim geoforest park for a mangrove tour. We rented a boat. It was almost an hour long trip which we enjoyed thoroughly.
