My lancer restoration cum engine upgrade

      Hi all,

After a back to back lancer engine upgrade, the drive to go up further inside me is even stronger now. Both of my previous builds can be accessed here,

      1. https://gearheads.in/showthread.php?...-Lancer-Diesel
      2. https://gearheads.in/showthread.php?...3-lancer-build

This time the plan is to upgrade 1.5 4G15 SOHC engine with 2.0 4G94 SOHC engine.

Decided to document the journey i'm going to take, so that the information might be useful to someone out there who wants to do a similar upgrade.

For this project i'm not going to disturb my existing lancer(s) and hence bought a new donor lancer altogether. The donor car needs some TLC so complete strip down becomes inevitable.

Posting the progress made so far,

Sure Lvramanan, will call you for a test drive once done. Unlike last time, hope i'll able to complete the build much more earlier since I've all the parts needed.

The word LANCER always gets me excited. Lots of Childhood Memories from NFS Games. Although I Never got to own one, it does have a place in my heart. Good going buddy. Keep it up.

Following are the parts needed just in case someone out there is planning for a similar build,

      1. Cedia's complete engine assembly including alternator, ac compressor, power steering pump, intake manifold and all the sensors that comes with the engine.
      2. Mitsubishi 4G93 SOHC 1.8 main engine mount and the remaining gearbox, sub-frame mounts from 1.5 engine can be reused.
      3. Both cedia gearbox and 1.5 gearbox can be mated to this engine, but we need cedia's flywheel in case of 1.5 gearbox.
      4. As far as wiring is concerned, we need Mitsubishi 4G93 SOHC 1.8 complete wiring. 1.5 wiring can't be reused with cedia engine since there is no support for MAF and coil type ignition.
      5. 4G94 SOHC ECU with immobilizer/O2 sensor delete
      6. Complete 1.8 exhaust from down-pipe till the rear muffler or custom exhaust system
      7. Lancer diesel 2.0 engine's radiator
      8. Air filter box from 1.8 including the rubber hose since we need to install MAF or custom air-filter box
      9. Better suspension upgrade like KYB to hope with the extra engine weight and better brake pads.
      10. 1.8 throttle body with both TPS and idling sensor
      11. 1.8 accelerator cable
      12. Instrument cluster from a 1.8 manual gear box car

      Hope this helps.....
