What car to buy? Budget 10 Lakhs

What car to buy? Please advise. My budget is 10 lakhs

A brief overview of my driving background.
I have a Skoda Rapid TDI 2013 model.
Sometimes I drive long distances, which goes to 2500 km one way, max was 3500 km one way.
To be honest, Skoda Rapid has spoilt me. Driving at 140-150 km for hours together, average 1000-1200 kms cover per day.
On long drives mostly I drive with full family of 4 adults, with full luggage, ****ey packed to the brim. I have driven on straight roads and on ghats, Ooty, Kodaikanal, ghats towards Mumbai or ghats in MP, never felt under it powered and pulls up on demand.
Just last week did a 2300 kms Bangalore to native drive, and thanks to Corona, stopping only for fuel (no food stops or loo breaks) with night halt in Nagpur.

I am considering buying another car, approx budget 10 lakhs.
Considered so many options, but not able to decide. Whatever model I view, I immediately start comparing with Skoda Rapid and there most options fail.
Should be able to comfortably drive at 120kmph plus speeds, (more the better), handle long drives of 1000 km per day, should have some space and comfortable for 4 passengers, good braking power and good lights (this trip brought many scary situations where at 140km speed saw many cows sitting in the middle of roads, not one or two but dozens of such cases, all in UP, thanks to some political decisions. Thanks to Skoda, always managed to stay safe.
India being India, cannot totally avoid bad/pot holed roads.

The preference would be for sedans, but am not sure whether this budget can get me a good sedan, hence anything would be good.

Which one would meet most of the requirements?

Who doesn?t love more options to choose?
Rapid is a FTD, and am happy even after 7 years. Existing car will continue, don?t want another Skoda.
Skoda will continue in Bangalore, this will stay in my village. Hence looking for suggestions.

Ok so you are serious. So on that note, are you looking for petrol or diesel? how much KMs are you thinking of doing monthly? What is the purpose of this car?

Since it will be based in village, diesel would be better.
Primarily to be used by parents, with hired driver, for travel to district town/Lucknow for doctor’s visit, and visiting relatives sometimes. It is hard to estimate km usage since it’s as and when required. Say roughly 1500 kms month. Some of the roads are bad, hence ground clearance matters.
I would also use it during my visits.

Part answer to your question is in above news story.

No Diesel Vehicle unless you enjoy the torque, this new car won't be driven by your parents, running will be less than 1500 KM pero yh, that too intermittent, not daily runs. More over quality of diesel in the villages is questionable.

      So buy a petrol vehicle.

IMHO since you are running mostly in village, a comfortable SUV will make more sense than a Sedan. You can look at Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue and Mahindra XUV 300. All should have some diesel models which fit into your budget. Nexon is a good bet with a good engine and spacious cabin, tata should also be giving good discounts and you can look at J Ravi's thread to learn about how it works on long route My Precious Blue Diamond: Nexon XZA+ AMT D

If you are looking for Sedan's specifically then you can look at Honda Amaze Diesel, Good engine but noisy (they say they have improved in latest models), same engine used in all their diesel portfolio, good mileage, no turbo lag, not as comfortable as SUV but is fine, good Honda Engineering, my 2 generation old model did 75K without even needing a clutch change and is still going strong.
