      Talking Toyota withdraws from Formula1!!!!!!!

      My god! :o :o :o

Toyota has decided to withdraw from F1.

After Toyota posted their worst financial losses this year, this decision was taken a bit with a heavy heart, I guess. They had an awesome team and their build up in F1 was very much commendable. They also finished 2008 season with Fifth place in the constructor's championships.

I wonder what will happen to their amazing racing facilities and all the team development!!
Will somebody take the team up like what happened with Honda??

      This is a shocker!
With drivers like Truli/Glock/Kobayashi and a good overall performance this yr (5th in constructor's tally), I was hoping they would be staying on and improve more next yr! With their withdrawal, it also marks the end of Japs from F1!
I hope someone picks it up, like Ross Brawn did for honda! (Maybe schumi is listening )

Toyota president Akio Toyoda said in a news conference at Tokyo that economic pressures had forced their exit, and that it was very disappointing to leave the sport before it had achieved its real goals.

"This was a difficult but ultimately unavoidable decision," Toyoda said. "Since last year with the worsening economic climate, we have been struggling with the question of whether to continue in F1. We are pulling out of Formula 1 completely.

He also apologised to the Toyota fans for taking this decision and their disappointing performance.
"I offer my deepest apologies to Toyota's many fans for not being able to achieve the results we had targeted."

      Very sad riddance to F1!

No surprises actually, i thought they would exit last year like Honda. But they thought, they can achieve the success (due to radical rule changes) of winning at least one grandprix, which Brawn (ex-honda) spoiled their party.

After investing millions they have what 8 podiums if i am not wrong and are winless, shows money cant buy everything
Sorry for the error; Toyota have done up to 13 podiums and not 8

They are saving 200m USD on their bottomline by withdrawing, seems like a smart move from point of view. But then Honda must be cursing the moment they decided to withdraw from F1

"When Honda sold its team last year, its new owners, led by Ross Brawn, delivered constructors’ championship victory for the former Honda car and the drivers' championship for Jenson Button. Analysts have estimated that Honda may have missed out on $255 million worth of brand exposure via its absence from Formula One" - Times

Its strange that F1 seems to oblivious to the way world is functioning. I for one would not mind F1 collapsing completely so that we would get a better F1 in what ever form it comes back with possibly none of those Bernie type leaches.

F1 races are not viable for the tracks, its not viable for the countries hosting it, its not viable for the manufacturers and it seem to be viable only to Bernie & Co. I would not be surprised if we are left with only two manufacturers Mercedes and Ferrari come next season. Not to forget Bridgestone moving out as well in 2011, possibly opening for MRF tyres to supply spec tyres to all the teams. Am sure Bernie would not mind that if he gets enough in his kitty from the deal.

the big question remains. is somebody going to buy the team or will it all be written off?
maybe trulli knew this was coming and that pressure was on his head when he started abusing poor old sutil.
time will tell where all the resources will spill into.
