Installed Hella Micro DE in my M800

      Hi Guys,

I always had problems with vehicles coming from opposite direction with their high beam on. Since almost all vehicles have their headlights at the level of the face of a person sitting in the 800, even my Philips 90/100 did not help much.

Read that the Hella Micro DE is good and ordered them. I thought that even if the road in front of me is illuminated properly, atleast the oncoming high beams would not bother me too much. But I was in for a surprise. The Micro DE are just AWESOME.

I never wanted to offend anyone but the DEs do their jobs wonderfully. Even after aligning them so they will not blind other, the beam is really good. They, combined with the high beam of the 90/100 illuminates the opposite driver's face so nicely even if they are in bigger vehicles like the sumo, qualis and the canters, and not to forget the indicabs (It looks like the idiots are sitting in a stadium)

I have got a couple of shoutings from another 800 and a gentleman on a bike with his family behind when I switched them on by mistake. And plenty of slowing downs, occasional complete stops, moving to the rights, dipped headlight from all the above morons including the dreaded Tata Ace

I highly recommend them to anyone who wants to get defensive from illiterate drivers and idiots who just have no concern about others. I am a considerate driver and never offend others. I now drive around with just the fogs on and only flash the high if an idiot comes my way.

Always drive safe and enjoy the drive

I am definitely getting auxiliary headlights for my cars. Just a matter of time and trips being planned.

Can you put up some pics please?

      Wonderful Quote. I liked it.

Can you please share some snap of after and before switching the lights?.
      How much did it cost?
      Where did you buy this?
Any alterations you did for fixing this or how was it fixed?
Pic if possible of the final position?

This will help atleast me and Jaguar to buy this.

I will post the pics later tonight. I ordered them from ebay and it cost approx 6k. Costly, but worth I feel. I think they might be available in Bangalore too but not sure if they are genuine.

Since I did not want to go with big bulbs mounted on an ugly bull bar and wanted to be as less intrusive as possible to the car, I have mounted them in the bumper. had to cut the plastic partitions a little, around 2 inches. Not much modification is involved. All in all it's just around an hours work to install them on this car including the wiring.

Good Review! It came in just in time. I was contemplating getting a pair of them. Could you please post a link to the ebay seller you picked it up from?

      Cheers!

He has already mentioned the cost above. Seems to be 6k.
This should be a good option. Waiting for pictures.

      I certainly hope so.
You can get projectors fogs for around 100$ mark.
How good it will be, I'm not sure.

Waiting for the financial year (read : no money now) to get over then might do something.
