You must be kidding, right! A 5 ton tow rope for the Endy! Get at least your vehicle weight times 3 of tonnage rated tow rope. Not worth holding back on a recovery gear.

2.5m is very short, if you ask me. Unless the plan is only for road towing (even then it is short), where snatch or run is not required, it might not serve the purpose; run-up by the recovery vehicle is a necessity in certain situation.

Siddu D Shackles are not available there. Will be going to pickup these tomorrow...
Another opinion based on what I have noticed - the hook is not reliable; have seen few recoveries where they have got twisted and removing them itself was a task. One reason why D-shackles are the best. Would suggest that you use D-shackles only, whenever available.

When getting a recovery gear, would advice that you get one that is rated a notch higher than what is required. You can atleast get that out of the weakest link chain during a recovery, especially with a tow where lash back can be lethal.

Hmmm..... in that case maybe we should go for 10T tow ropes, to be on the safer side.

      The bigger the better

      Sidhu,

This would be one purchase that will definitely not be termed as an "over-kill". Go for it.

The one I posted is for use in my cars for on road tow

Will be getting a higher rated strap with D-Shackles for the Jeep and Endy.

10T with 5 meters is very good for the Jeep.

Paappe most of the shops will be closed today also... After Ramzan and Ganesh Chaturthi only few of them may be open today. Ask JeeperByHeart about JC road the day before... 90 percent of the shops were closed for the week till Saturday as per my info

Good Luck for your purchase today... do post pics and details of the items picked up and the source so I can be more familiar with that while I go tomorrow
