      Doc!
That was an amazing TD report there.
Well written and raw. Almost felt like we were at the showroom for the TD.

Well, the ASS experience is definitely getting better. Now they actually invite you for TD and all???? :o

Nice report ripper!! Surprising to hear such reports about a Tata car! I think i'll go check it out too. How are the interior plastics? Is it improved from regular (pathetic) Tata standards? Also, Post some pix u lazy doc!

Plastics are atrocious. Here, tata has not bucked the trend.it is better than the sumo grande that was parked next to it, but still atrocious. I have seen better fit and finish on disposable plastic toy cars that you get for 10 or 20 rupees on the street.
The seat fabric and the dashboard plastic feel ok, but the door lock switches and the power window switches were simply horrible.
The control stalks click into positions well. Feel ok, but look cheap. I'm thankful for the dials all being in front of the driver. I hated the cost cutting stunt of having a center console seen in the vista
      @jayd- you post the pics.

All right you lazy bums! I took the pics, since none of you helped me out.
Actually I went there with dad to show him the car. Took pics then. Dad hates Tata, like me.
But even He had to admit that the car is no slouch. He drives a Verna CRDi BTW. He did whine about the car not being as powerful as the verna, but he was definitely impressed with the throttle response.

The "Aura" version comes at 6.5 on road with all round power windows, bluetooth connectivity for phone, a key pad to dial numbers, steering mounted audio controls for the stereo, steering mounted call answer and disconnect buttons and aux/USB input into the stereo.
ICE people! Head over to the nearest Tata showroom to see/hear what the stereo is like. I thought the sound quality was pretty poor.

I had a chance to sit in the back seat while he drove, and the ride in the back is pretty good too.
      Here are the token pics.
Next time I TD a car, there better be a dedicated photographer with me. Click image for larger version.

got to sit in one today. Rear seat space is cavernous. They should launch a manza coupe, so that we can sit in the rear seat and drive

like ripper said, the power window switches are atrocious. Even my First gen indica has better switches than those thingies. Thankfully, they are the only fly in the ointment.

the showroom does not seem to be interested in giving test drives - at least to me. Even though I was accompanied by a very serious buyer. They claimed that they were not giving them out then.

Funnily enough, I caught the same car behind me at a roundabout near the dealership. Hmm

The side profile of the manza reminds me of a certain cartoon character!

The integration is terrible, any 2nd grade kid can make out the boot is an afterthought.

Tata cars offers tremendous value and features per paisa, no questions about it. After reading the review and seeing the photos i really would consider the Manza if i was in the market for such a car. When the Vista rolled out i had similar views about it and considered it as an option alongwith the i10. But once the Vista niggles and issues thread popped up on tbhp i really had to think again about the Vista. I hope and wish that Manza turns out to be a success for Tata, its such a good car on paper and our computer monitors .

Stage 2 is there, but power gains will be negligble, compared to the drop in mileage, and the rise in smoke levels. Anyways, lets keep the discussion focussed on the Manza. am I still the only one here who's TDed the car?
