      Rayzer Auxilliary Light

Stumbled upon this novel idea of aux lamps:

      Visualeyes - Safety Innovation Performance

      eBay link here

      Rayzer Auxilliary Light

As the first auxiliary light mounted inside the vehicle, Rayzer redefines the concept of auxiliary lighting.

      A higher standard
Rayzer solves a long list of problems associated with traditional auxiliary lights: difficult to mount, easy to steal, poor light quality when they get dirty and often damaged by stones or minor parking accidents.

It’s also a product that takes aesthetic aspects into account. Why detract from the design and aerodynamics of your vehicle by mounting unsightly auxiliary lights on the outside when now you can mount the elegant Rayzer discretely on the inside of your windshield?

      The safer option
Traditional auxiliary lights over-illuminate the area immediately in front of the car thus reducing night vision and obscuring more distant objects.

      The latest HID Xenon technology
Rayzer utilizes the latest HID Xenon technology. Xenon bulbs have a light spectrum that corresponds more closely to your eye’s own visual spectrum. This makes them about three times more effective than halogen lights for night driving. And Xenon’s superior life-span – about 3,000 hours under normal conditions – means you get five years of safe driving.

Anybody considering aux lamps? Especially the #4x4 guys Any more info on these lamps?

      EDIT:

Of course it is, for us (includes you and me, others feel free to join in). When you really need unobstructed vision and extra lumens on the road without compromising on aerodynamics and the lights' safety, this will come up as an option. For those who buy cars like Mercs, Bimmers, etc. that cost upwards of 20-25L, spending another twenty grand on some good aux lamps won't be too much of a problem, isn't it?

anybody can stick a couple of lights in the windshield. but I also think the reflector / projector design in this device contributes to its performance in a major way. that might not be easy to copy.

considering the cost of a set of HID lights and the whole circuitry, factoring the import duties, dealer markup, etc. the cost doesnt seem so bad.

novelty factor, ease of installation, and judging by the product demo video, seriously kickass performance. you dont have to destroy the front / top of the car by installing bars / frames, etc to accommodate the fog lights. that also gives you an aerodynamic advantage.

Get a pair of Hella Micro DE's for 5k (the driving lights - not fogs), throw in a HID kit there, and it'll perform just as well if not better for half the price! The Anal ones can create the shroud in Fiber Glass!

One thing I have realised about lights - you need to SEE them in ACTION with your own eyes! NO photo/video will ever give you an idea of how it is in real life!

Exactly the reason why I found it interesting.

Sounds good, but it involves some effort. Me thinks the result would cost as much as this one - closer to it, but half as this one doesn't sound like a good approximation, if you consider the cost of importing a good HID kit, costs of making a shroud, fixing it at a recessed place etc etc.

      Amen to that!

Goddy, I've gone through his thread! In fact, I appreciate and admire his effort, and also, consider that thread a good source of very reliable information. It was based on his thread itself that I quoted the above Now why would kb100 be ****ed?

I am giving you the ACTUAL prices based on our exp! The whole thing will not cost you more than 10-11k tops including the MicroDEs!
Very easy to create a shroud with bracket and install it the same way the Rayzer has been.

DIY means effort! So if you want to slap a value to that - then each to his own.

From the video on the Rayzer website, it seems to have more 'spread' than 'throw' - and for high speed/highway driving you need more of the latter.
