Going by the above description, this would be a ideal entry level car for young couples and families with small children. Being built from scratch, I am sure this would be a better car than the aged Alto. But I would take the mileage figures of the car with a pinch of salt. I10's ARAI figures are 20.36 KMPL but owners feedback on milieage is poor. Anyway, like to see this car overtaking Alto in monthly sales. May eat the market of nano, alto, astar, estilo and santro. Good luck Hyundai.

This car has got "Chevy Beat" in its construction from the exterior.. The design is bold.. But I dont understand why they had the roof sliding down towards the tail.. seems to be a favorite design these days among a lot of new cars.. This may look "bold and fresh" but could give a claustrophobic ambience at the rear..

Power loss when AC on is understandable given the size of the engine.. I complain about powerloss with AC on even with my Santro and the eon has a much smaller engine..

And sakmji, the head room that you have mentioned under "dislike" is specific to the rear passengers or even to the driver and the co-pilot? Thanks..

I guess roof sliding down is for better aerodynamics resulting in better FE.

I would like to add i10 too in the list. If someone is ready to buy a Hyundai i10, one might go for highest model of eon.

Also, the exterior design being similar to Beat at a lower cost and Hyundai's wide sales and service network, Eon might take some number from Beat too.

For many buyers looks are more important than engine, refinement etc. So no wonder that it might become successful in top 5 in our country.

To my surprise found that(from pics) the Boot is big enough(215 litres) compared to its competitors. They should have used a bit space of it for more rear leg room.
But now its every ones take.
You want more boot space in that segment with 2 Passengers & occasional rear seat passenger - Go for it. That's what Hyundai might be saying.

I test drove an eon last week. To be honest Alto K10 is a true winner. EON from the outside looks good. but its very cramped from the insde, gives you a sick feeling. Steering feels too heavy for ones liking. and it vibrates a lot(both steering and the gearbox) engine does make a lot of sound. Gearshift quality very poor and so is the clutch.

I seriously had never expected this kinda (or perhaps i am too obsessed with polo) was disappointed with eon. the very next day drove the altoK10 (demo car was 20k kms done) but stil it was a class act.. engine was quite powerful and never felt it as cramped as the eon from insde(seats of eon were uncomfy though they were higher in pos). gearshift was better than the eon. and though it was 20k kms done it never vibrated on idle n engine was very smooth have a TD of both together and you ll know what i mean
pics stil pending in the cam.. ll upload it tomorow
