Suzuki intruder m800 launched at a price of inr 8.88 l

If you find the bigger capacity Suzuki Intruder too pricey for your liking and Harleys too prehistoric for you, choice is at hand. Suzuki Motorcycle India has just launched a cut price version of the Suzuki Intruder, called the M800. The Suzuki Intruder M800 is priced at INR 8.88 Lakhs, nearly 4.5 Lakhs lesser than its sibling, the higher displacement Suzuki Intruder 1800. Like its moniker suggests, the engine capacity too has been significantly decreased to arrive at the lower price.

The Suzuki Intruder M800 displaces 800cc, which is a full liter lesser than the gargantuan engine displacement of 1,800cc that its elder sibling, the Suzuki Intruder 1800 displaces. The engine of the Intruder M800 displaces 805cc with a over square layout of bore 83mm and stroke 74.4 mm. The intruder produces a peak power of 53 Bhp at 6,000 rpm and 62 Nm of peak torque at 4,000 rpm. While power and torque numbers might be more of academic exercises on cruisers like these, bang for the buck clearly isn’t what the Intruder M800 will be as the bigger engined Intruder 1800 produces more than double the Intruder M800′s power and torque at 127 Bhp and an tyre shredding 160 Nm. So, compared to these numbers, the Intruder M800 might be more like a castrated budget cruiser, but a cruiser all the same.

The Intruder M800, like its bigger sibling features a fuel injected, liquid cooled V-Twin engine that runs on a 4 valves per cylinder and DOHC layout. The two cylinders are inclined at 45 degrees while the Intruder 1800′s cylinders are much wider with an inclination of 54 degrees. The Intruder M800 could be marginally more easier to handle as it weighs 279 Kilos, nearly 70 kilograms lesser than the Intruder 1800′s massive heft of 347 kilograms. All in all, a smaller, cut price Japanese cruiser is what the Suzuki Intruder M800 is all about.
