lots of highway driving and high end ICE..should i avoid FFE???

this is for 2004 baleno altura done 79k.totally stock.looking for some reliable modifications. i dont think just putting performance filters would make much of difference.so planing to start with headers and exhaust.but i do lots of highway driving and also planing for some nice ICE setup.still wanna try FFE badly.should i go for silent one?also which is the best place to get it done at mumbai?

If you are doing lot of highways with some super duper ICE playing, You might also consider the noise from FFE. I had FFE that I exchanged off for a stock exhaust. For me, stock exhaust sound is also unbearable as some of my musical frequencies are not heard well. More slow you go, more time you get to hear music. My opinion though.

I haven't heard a FFE that's silent as stock. FFE with a good air filter will still give a noticeable increase in performance. Automech is a known name for FFE

If you are planning to get some ICE, then stay away from an exhaust mode. All the money you spend on the upgrade is just a waste as you will barely be able to hear anything.

So decide which music you would prefer hearing more! The kind that comes from an exhaust/speakers.

Btw, an exhaust should can drive you nuts over a long journey & give you a serious headache too.

yzfrj has a 'silent' FFE so I guess that may be an option that can be considered.

There is no "silent" FFE Gilead. If it's silent, it's not a real FFE.

Yes at any cost, 1-You would feel terrible after driving so much kms with all that noise, constant humming. 2-Your highend ice would sound like crap coz of all the ruckus. 3-Your parents would hate riding in your car 4-If you try to make a silnet ffe you woulld ahve to restrict flow which defeats the purpose of ffe in the 1st place....

Agree to all what Arun said above. It becomes a pain on long drives.

      Wellllllllllllllll.....!!!
I guess the FFE I have then in "unreal"

Mi10 our local ICE gwad have heard my car's FFE. Can you please comment.
Anyway... this is my primary car and my daily drive so a loud or (real???) FFE is not an option for me.
Say whatever its my car my money and my way of FFE.

Everyone has their own views I kinda know how to respect that. I do too.

btw mi10 does have a loud endcan

      Kinda like to disagree.
A restrictive exhaust or FFE in this case tends to give a tad more low end torque, especially in the case of the bonda. (Honda ? )

More than a stock exhaust? Isnt that pretty much restrictive in itself? That said a 4x2x1 header minus cat plus straightpipe coupled with a restrictive endcan will deliver a tad better performance and noise -- which is in your case?

In my case noise was not really important.I did it to gain a tad more low end.It serves my purpose.Performance gain if any is marginal.Sometimes I wonder if there is any. When someone else drives and say this is not like the stock vtec and does have improved low end then yeah maybe it does work. Most blokes FFE for the sound.Probably that is why the question was asked by the bloke who started this thread.
