      Ice fo linea

Hey guys i own a Fiat Linea E+
and as of now the the ice comprises of
      1. Stock HU
      2. Front jbl speakers (dont know the code)
      3. Rear stock speakers
      4. Got 2 jbl oval speakers fitted in the tray area.
But after all this i am not getting the bass which i want.
I listen to rap and hip hop mostly and occasionally some punjabi songs.
So mostly my songs comprise of HEAVY BASS.
which i am not able to get through the present system.
Pleas help and tell me the additions i can do to make THE BASS EFFECT, without voiding the warranty of the car.
      Thanks.

Get a monoblock amp and a 12'' sub. Should do the trick.

Also check if the wiring has been done properly. With those many speakers you must be getting pretty decent bass, specially from the 6x9's on the parcel tray. Though it might not be as tight and clean as you would get from a sub.

If you HU does not have pre-outs, then yes, you cannot add an amp. So you might have to get a HU with 3 pre-outs. My ICE knowledge is totally outdated when it comes to products. Maybe the others will chip in soon.

First check if the 6X9's are wired properly. JBL ovals give decent bass, unless u are expecting sub like performance from it. Are you using components up front? If so, the HU may not be able to give sufficient power to the 6X9's and the comps. An amp will help.

If you are still not satisfied, change the HU, and get one with 3 preouts. Add an amp and a sub.

P.S: Are u using the emotion pack? If so, changing the HU is not an option.

God I'd hate to sit in your car - Hip-hop.. that too on that set up!!

There is NOW WAY in hell that any HU can drive THREE pairs of speakers with its on-board power - It just does not have the juice PERIOD! You may want to consider taking either the rears or the 6x9's off-line altogether ASAP. (lest you drive the poor HU into clipping!)

You get something called a Line Level adapter.. which converts speaker level output to a line level input. IN some amps.. esp the class D Sub-woofer application specific amps, this adapter comes as a part of the kit. Else pick up one, two, or three (as many as you may need) from teh market and take the feed off the speaker line. You can use the crossovers and the gain control on the amp to set the frequencies and the gains etc.

If BASS is all you want, get yourself a sub and a basic 2 channel amp and bang away to glory! If you also want some musicality and the rest of the frequency spectrum keeping pace (and volume) with your BASS, then go in for an amp for front & rear speakers as well! Even a basic four channel amp with two channels driving the door speakers in parallel, and the other two bridged into the sub, will sound way better that what you have at the moment!

ALL the best in your quest for 'sound'! Please be warned its a veddy veddy dangerous path!

I still have my amp and sub lying at home from my indica.. since the current setup is not allowing me to fix these two in my linea emotion pack, I have dropped the idea as of now.

      Sure you can kvk.

Just get yourself a speaker- line level adapter. You can tap into the speaker terminals in the boot and you are set to go!
